What kinds of data may not be appropriate for storage in the UW-Madison instance of LabArchives?
- Sensitive Data. At this time most sensitive information (according to the campus definition) should not be stored on the UW-Madison instance of LabArchives. Please consult with the ELN Service Team to determine if the ELN is appropriate for use with your data.
- Human subjects data gathered under the guidance and approval of a campus Institutional Review Board (IRB)(http://www.grad.wisc.edu/research/hrpp/). Consult your IRB for guidance on use of the UW-Madison LabArchives instance with this type of data.
- Other data subject to government and/or campus oversight. Examples may include data from research requiring adherence to regulatory guidelines of the FDA, FISMA, or an institutional biosafety committee. Consult with the appropriate compliance committee(s) or individual(s) for your research and academic unit on use of the UW-Madison LabArchives instance with this type of data.
I would like to use an ELN, however my research data isn’t appropriate for cloud storage. What are my options?
